WORLD FOOD CHAMPIONSHIP (WFC)

Competition Barbecue will always be our roots, but we needed something to fill the void when the pandemic struck in 2020.

So Lisa entered the Taste of America Contest (TOA).
She placed 4th in Tennessee for Smoked Chicken Pot Pies and Qualified us for the 2021 World Food Championship (WFC)!

Lisa, Jesse, and I made the road trip from Nashville to Dallas, in November 2021.
We arrived at Fair Park, having no idea what to expect at the World Food Championship.

TV cameras and media were everywhere and it was totally overwhelming at first, but Lisa and Jesse adjusted!
Although we didn't advance to Finals, World Food was an incredible experience that we wouldn't trade that that week for anything!

Lisa's Shrimp Szechuan Noodle RECIPE entry scored 5th against 40+ incredible WFC chefs. We all worked hard to perfect this dish and even did a practice cook in our condo in Dallas the night before to make some last minute improvements! Fresh shrimp from H-E-B in Dallas took this dish over the top, wish they'd open up in Tennessee!

Fortunately we get another shot at WFC 2022 in Dallas in November!
Lisa entered the World Food Chili Championship OPEN Division in September 2021 in Myrtle Beach. The venue was amazing, we made more new friends, and somehow won FIRST PLACE and a GOLDEN TICKET for WFC 2022!
Kevin from the Office even handed her the award!

Working on on SOUP entry this summer, can't wait for WFC 2022 in Dallas!
