COMPETITION CHILI
In March 2023, Lisa had an AMAZING day at our first big CASI (Chili Appreciation Society International) competition.
1ST in Show, 2ND in Pro, 3RD in Open at the Veterans United Chili CASI Cook-off in Huntsville, AL against some of the strongest competition chili cooks out there!
Lisa won our first ever International Chili Society (ICS) Cook-off at the 2021 World Chili Championship OPEN in Myrtle Beach, SC and it was an absolute thrill!
Earned us a Golden Ticket to World Food Championship (WFC) 2022, but also created a new obsession!
In January 2022, we entered a small chili comp judged by the vets at the VFW #4893 in Franklin, TN.
What an incredible group of people! We had such a great time that we ended up joining as VFW Auxiliary members and now visit regularly. And even won FIRST PLACE CHILI!
We may not ride motorcycles, but in January 2022 we entered the Appleton Harley Davidson dealership Chili Competition in Clarksville, TN.
We were happy with our entry, but can't win them all. But the folks at Harley put on a great event and we had a blast that day. We did win Most Creative Name award for "Twisted Brisket Chili"
Definitely will be back in 2023!
In Feb 2022, we entered the Music City Polar Plunge at Titans stadium. Teamed up with our old BBQ competitor friend Tammy Scott and won 2nd Place!
In May 2022, we entered our first Chili Appreciation Society International (CASI) Competition at the infamous Rocco's Pub in Jasper, GA.
Met some great people as always and finished respectably, 4th Place plaque in a tough field of CASI cooks.

In September 2022, we returned to Myrtle Beach to defend our 2021 Championship. Edged out by Damon Holter with a Perfect 100 but he and his wife Lu are top notch competitors and friends!
We were proud win 2nd Place and share the stage with them and hey we met Brian Baumgartner (Kevin from the Offfice), who was a great guy!
